Managing the connection to your AI Tool
How the connection works
When you connect an AI tool to Mass Dynamics you sign in through your browser with your normal Mass Dynamics login and approve the connection once. That approval is what lets the tool act for you.
- The connection is yours, not your organization's. Each person connects with their own account.
- It carries your permissions, and reaches only what your Mass Dynamics account can reach.
- No API key is created, and nothing is stored on your machine.
Disconnecting
Turn the connector or plugin off in your AI tool's own settings. That is where connections are managed - Mass Dynamics cannot remove an entry from inside your AI tool.
Switching it off stops the tool reaching Mass Dynamics. It is reversible, so it is also the fastest way to test whether a connection is causing a problem.
If you need access cut off rather than just switched off - a lost laptop, someone leaving the team - email support@massdynamics.com and we will handle it with you.
What happens to work already done
Nothing. Disconnecting an AI tool does not undo anything it did.
Uploads, datasets and analyses created through an AI tool are ordinary Mass Dynamics objects. They are there in the browser, through the API, and to anyone else with access to that workspace, exactly as if you had made them yourself.
Using more than one tool
You can connect as many AI tools and devices as you like. Each authenticates separately under your own login, and work done through one appears in all of them.
Avoid connecting two copies of the Mass Dynamics server at once. Your AI tool then sees duplicate operations and may call the wrong one. If you tested the Agent Pack, remove it before you connect.
What to expect
Long-running work runs in Mass Dynamics, not in your AI tool. Start an upload, a processing job or an analysis, then ask where it got to. Closing the AI tool does not stop the job.
Validation happens as data goes in. Anything wrong surfaces immediately rather than after the job has run.
Check the experiment design. When you upload, your AI tool works out sample names and conditions, often from your file names, and will usually ask you to confirm. Confirm it properly — a design can pass every validation rule and still not be the comparison you meant, and the analysis on top of it will be wrong with it.
